Ella turned 1 on May 1st! We couldn't celebrate on her birthday because Dave had to work so we celebrated a few days later. We had my family over and Dave's family (Buddy couldn't make it because of work). Ella loved all of the attention. She discovered that if she started clapping everyone would clap. She sort of used that to death. She got lots of fun toys including a train that she can push standing up or ride sitting down, a purse that sings and has keys, money and even lipstick in it, a Pelican toy that you can pull around on a string which makes it sing, a big red wagon, Fraggle Rock movies, some new dresses, a new book, a ball, some new cute socks with beads crocheted on them, some cards, and money. She didn't get as excited over her cake as I thought she would. We had to coax her to start eating it. She mostly picked at it. We liked eating it more than she did but oh well. My friend Veronica offered to make her cake. It was so cute. It was pink and yellow with a teddy bear cake on top. The inside was checkerboard patterned. She also made some cupcakes to go with it. I didn't tell her what the decorations looked like but funny enough her cake matched the decorations! Anywho, we had a great time with Ella and the fam =)
